A US virtual number lets you receive texts like a regular US number, but many services can tell it is a virtual (VoIP) number rather than one from a mobile carrier.
Some services, for example WhatsApp, PayPal and Viber, are known to refuse VoIP numbers for verification. When that happens, the service rejects the number or never sends a code. This is the service's choice and not a fault with your ZEDSMS number.
What you can try
- Try a number from another country, which some services handle differently.
- Use a service that accepts virtual numbers for what you need.
- Check your Inbox in My Numbers, in case the code did arrive.
Whether a number is accepted depends entirely on the service you are signing up for, so we cannot promise a particular result. Our Terms & Conditions explain that we do not guarantee any number will be accepted by a third party and that a refusal is not a reason for a refund.
